What We Know

Do you charge for consultations? How many times do we have to meet?

No, my first consultation is complimentary. Once you book your wedding with me, I am delighted to meet with you to view centerpiece examples and choose final flower choices. I am available to visit your venue with you to help you decide on the overall design of your resception. The amount of times we meet is based upon the details of your wedding and the degree of services we will be providing. I find that meeting twice is adequate.

When should I schedule a consultation?

Clients often contact me to begin the process up to 12 months before the event. I have also planned gorgeous events for clients in a much tighter time frame- two weeks and in a couple of instances just a few days! However to assure I am available for your date, I suggest you book an appointment as soon as you have dresses decided upon. When you are sure I am a good fit for your event place your deposit to assure your place on my calendar. I book a limited number of weddings so don't put off calling for too long.

What should we bring to our first consultation?

You should bring anything that will provide an idea of your personal preferences and demonstrates the feel of your wedding. Some examples might be:

  • Pictures of flowers and floral designs that inspire you. You can find floral pictures in magazines, on the internet, Pinterest or in books. If you come across pictures of flowers or floral designs that you do not like bring along those pictures as well. I also have an extensive portfolio of floral examples for us to reference in the consultation.
  • Pictures of the bride's dress, the attendants and men's ensembles.
  • Swatches of the colors you are working with to build your wedding's color palette are very helpful. Fabric, paint swatches or pictures can all be used to illustrate the color themes of your wedding.
  • Bring a list of people you will need to supply with corsages and boutonnieres.

What do you require to secure our date with you and book our wedding with The Flower Studio?

You will receive an estimate of flowers and services with a breakdown of costs for your review after our initial consultation. A deposit of $100.00 will secure your date and book your wedding with me. Final payment is due in full 3 weeks before your wedding.

What do you accept as payment?

At this time, I accept cash, personal checks, and most forms of credit cards. Credit cards may be used for the deposit payment via the phone. All subsequent credit card payments must be swiped in the studio in person. In an effort to keep our costs lower for you, we have chosen this policy.

I feel like I need help choosing flowers and designs. Who should I bring with me to our consultation?

Your fiancé, a friend, a family member or someone else that knows the style and look of your wedding can all be very helpful when making decisions and choosing flowers and designs.

You may want to include the person that is paying for the flowers for the wedding in our meeting. That way they have an idea of what is involved in the decor and can ask any questions they may have at the consultation.

I suggest that you limit the number of people you bring with you to our meeting to no more than two additional people. Everyone has a vision and too many people can make decision making confusing.
